Idea 1: This is my idea for my teaser trailer, a flash of a character waking up in a hospital. There is then to be an editing transition (mimicking TV static) to a news reader reading the public guidance on what to do and not what to do in the zombie outbreak. The camera will then jump to a wide shot of a group of survivors who are watching the report. The camera begins to pan around the group and as the dialogue of the news reader stops the survivors begin to hear banging on the walls and doors all around them. The camera then jumps to them running into the main character who was in the hospital but is now running from a zombie horde. The trailer then finishes with the group running past the camera followed by the zombies. The name of the film will appear and the date will follow. The last small scene will be of the news reader saying "is that it?, can we go now?" and a zombie bursting in and eating the news reader.
Idea 2: The second idea for my teaser trailer is more of the paranormal activity approach to cinematography and editing. The scene will start with a group of people who are waking through the streets. all the shots will be done on hand held camera so it will be hard to determine what camera shots and angle will be used in this trailer. The group of people will walk through the street during the night when everything is quiet, a sound will be heard in the background and the group will begin to panic. The camera will pan to a character walking on his own in the distance. One of the group will shout out "hey, come here quick!" the wondering character will begin to walk toward them and a zombie will pop out in front of him and pushes him to the ground and begins to eat him. The leader of the group will then turn and walk away. The title of the film will appear. The camera will then come back on an the person holding the camera will sound out of breath and the a zombie will jump out in front of the camera then it just cuts off and the release date appears for the film.
Idea 3: My final trailer idea will pull away from the zombies and focus more on the action virus that has plagued the earth. There will be a lone survivor who is walking around a housing estate, the character is being followed by a O.T.S, a scream will come from one of the houses. the man will run upstairs and see a man having a fit on a bed the main character the begins to restrain to fitting man as the woman in the background shouts in upset hes contagious. the trailer will then cut to the title of the film and the release date, the section at the end shows the man walking down the road will dead bodies covered up all along the pavement
These ideas are all good, particularly however, the first. I like the detail you've put into your proposal, and like how a large amount of the trailer will be based in the news room, not giving too much of the actual film away. I also like the idea of the flash right at the beginning, as viewers will not know what to make of it, before the story unfolds a little more throughout the trailer
ReplyDeleteGood luck in creating your trailer! :)
Im going for the second plot, I particularly enjoy watching paranormal films as I feel they are more affective. The cinematography and editing would work well as you can be creative and not have to follow extreme conventions.
ReplyDeleteall these ideas are good but i really like the first idea that you have chosen as the detail you have put in shows that this is our favourite one. having the trailer based in a news room is effective as it has a quick insight to what it will be about but doesn't show too much of the storyline. well done pal lets hope your idea you end up with works well for you.
ReplyDeletePersonally I really like the first idea. You seem to have a really clear idea of what you want to happen in it and from reading your plots, I can visulise it also. I like this idea of something scaring the audience though at the end, like popping out infront of the camera, whether thats a zombie I don't know but I think that it will really get the audience intruiged. Remember though it wouldn't be able to be too scary otherwise it wouldn't be able to be shown on TV which will prevent a huge part of your target audience from watching.
