research and Planning: Film Poster draft
This is the first draft of my film magazine and I have started by just placing the title of the film in the middle of the A4 yellow background

Research and Planning: Your Film Magazine Font
This is the sort of idea I have for my film magazine masthead. I like this front because it is simple but effective, I have taken the idea to put the 'YOUR' in the 'FILM' from the already ready and existing film magazine 'TOTAL FILM'. I will refine this font on a later date.Friday, 25 November 2011
Research and Planning: Audition Pictures
These are the audition picture for my main character. I will recall this person so I can get some test shot with the costume on and move forward from there.
Research and Planning: Costume Design for Main Character
this is the kind of costume I want my main character to have because I looks like the character has been fighting for his life and has been alone for along time.

Research and Planning: Film Magazine Analysis 2
Genre: This genre film is horror/thriller. You can tell this through the main image of the magazine, the image is dark and the main chracter on this image is very evil looking with a red colour in his eye this could mean he is insane.
This magazine has all the basic things that a magazine should have:
This magazine has all the basic things that a magazine should have:
- A Masthead
- Main image
- Tagline
- Barcode
- Issue number
- Price
- Genre convention colours
research and Planning: Film Magazine Analysis 1
Genre: The genre for this magazine cover is the shining, and as everyone knows this is a horror film. you can see this clearly through the main image, were the main character looks crazy or angry with makes the viewer feel over powered. It helps that this is the iconic scene in the film that everyone knows.
Representation: The genre is reflected through the representation, for example the images represents how the character has gone mad and whats to do something sinister to a poor unsuspecting victim.
Media language:
Target audience:
Representation: The genre is reflected through the representation, for example the images represents how the character has gone mad and whats to do something sinister to a poor unsuspecting victim.
Media language:
- The masthead is in its conventional place at the top of the magazine cover
- The main image is in the center of the magazine cover
- The the red colour on the font and on the square next to The Shining could mean that the film on the cover is a horror film.
- The tagline for this film is a quote from the film that is linked to the main image.
Target audience:
- The target audience for this magazine are people who are interested in fims
- This targets also people who may just like the shining and some of the other film featured in this magazine
- It may also target the younger generation who haven't seen some of these films to watch them after reading about them
- The target age group for this magazine would be people aged between 18-23 this is because this is the age group that have seen this film and would like the article about this film
- The narrative is the same as the representation and the genre paragraph

Research and Planning: Film poster analysis 2
A mid-close up shot shows someone on the left side of the poster. This could mean she is the protagonist or antagonist. the colour of the poster is a greenish yellow colour this is to represent the camcorder that is documenting the events that are happening it also suggest a disease of some sort. the genre is clearly horror as you can see someone screaming in terror in the eye of the character.all this eludes that the narrative is about a group of people that get picked of one by one and that all the event are being recorded by a character with a camera. the target audience for this film is most likely 15-18 this is because the themes this films could carry are similar to other films that this age group may have watched. The cast a crew information is at the bottom of the poster as well as the website this is typical of a film poster.
Research and Planning: Film poster analysis 1
A close up is the main shot in this poster showing a woman who looks like she is trying to stop herself catching something, showing this is an infection film. The colour of this consistently red, black and white. with red being the dominant colour on the poster this could represent the colour of blood showing that the genre could be horror as horror films have a lot of blood and gore also the quarantine symbol shows that this is also a film about some sort of infection. this gives a sense of the narrative that the world has been plagued with a virus and the film will be about what has happened o the world 28 weeks after the virus started. A film like this would most likely target an audience between 15-18 males and females as it is a woman on the poster suggesting that she will be the main protagonist and women can relate to other women and men would watch this as it seems like a violent and high action film which would make them want to see it.
The female character is represented as being wall eyes, this suggest that this feature may be an important theme of the film. The poster also contains cast and crew which is typical on any film poster. The website for the film is also available on the bottom of the poster.
